15th Annual Cal/OSHA Update Seminar
Announced
California Safety Services Group announced its 15th Annual Cal/OSHA Update Seminar Series with Joel Cohen, Robert Peterson, esq. (past chief counsel of the Cal/OSHA Appeals Board) and Lee Klein, former Cal/OSHA District Manager and primary author of Cal/OSHA’s Policies and Procedures Manual. The series will be hosted in Rohnert Park, Oakland, Sacramento, Fresno, Ontario, Burbank, Anaheim and San Diego from March 11 through April 4.
The day-long seminar will review and update significant Cal/OSHA regulation and policy changes, which occurred in 2002, including a discussion of the state’s new mold laws and proposed changes to the ergonomics standard. Significant rulings of the Appeals Board will also be discussed.
In addition to the day-long
program is a 2-hour early morning session designed specifically for contractors
(6:30 to 8:30am). This brief session will
focus on problems unique to contractors such as what defenses are available to a general
contractor or subcontractor to defend against citations issued under the
“multi-employer” policy and what steps must be taken to successfully present the
defense.
