The Cohen Group provides a full range of litigation support services, particularly in advocacy of attorneys involved in OSHA appeals, Workers’ Compensations appeals, and civil cases pertaining to negligence, construction defects including mold/fungi, indoor air quality, and "toxic torts." In addition to holding certifications from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Protection Agency, Division of Occupational Safety and Health and the State of California, our senior staff have courtroom experience and have been determined to be "experts" in the field of environmental health and safety in several states. The Cohen Group has provided assistance on numerous cases on such topics as asbestos, solvent exposures, OSHA citations, mold/fungi, indoor air quality, product liability, warnings and labeling, state of knowledge, workplace injuries and work practices.

A group of plaintiffs alleged irreversible neurologic damage from past exposure to a solvent found in several products. The exposure was alleged to have occurred during use of the products, which were contained in aerosol cans. The Cohen Group acted on behalf of the nine defendants, several of which were multi-national firms. Through evaluation of purchases, use, and product sales history, and development of scientific models assessing potential exposure and the performance of building ventilation, The Cohen Group established the range of the plaintiffs’ possible exposure. Testimony was given during an eight-week trial. The jury returned a decision in favor of the defendants, stating that the exposure was insignificant and therefore could not have caused the alleged health effects.
